Elderly crippled cane-dependent knife-wielding menace stopped by heroic police!

UPDATE AUGUST 14, 2009 Video - police taser guy sitting in chair on his front porch - must see to believe

Or should the title of this post say police used excessive force by slamming her against the ground resulting in a puddle of blood? What about the flexibility of an elderly HUMAN BEING's joints? I'll bet the wrist lock or whatever was used to flip her did those joints some good. I mean just 'cause she can barely walk with the aid of a cane and seems to have a hip issue - why would one think her skeleton would be frail? Ah who cares just slam her on the ground - she has a knife! Watch both vids below and make up your own mind.

Jack Rabbit's opinion for what it's worth: Since I could have stopped that lady with both arms tied behind my back, without hurting her and I have no police training - and yes I am extremely confident in saying that - I conclude that the police in this case brought no value to the situation. In other words did the public get even one damn dollar's worth of value for the fortune we are spending to support our ubiquitous heavily armed police? If the answer is - well this is how their training guides them - then I'd say fire the trainer and demand a refund. I want my tax money back!

By the way if you answer that the cop feared for her life - then that cop doesn't demonstrate those characteristics one would expect of a "brave" person - so shouldn't be a cop in the first place. Fear in this situation is unbecoming of a police officer.

  1. You can judge a man by how he treats his animals. You can judge a nation by how it treats its very young and very old.

  4. Idiot cops! They act as if this brutality was unavoidable.
Why did it not occurr to them to have two officers disarm
the elderly woman, one to restrain the knife-hand, and
the other there to keep her from falling and being injured?
ONE competent human being should have been able to
restrain a this frail, elderly crippled woman without injury
    to anyone!

  5. Too bad someone did not step up and take the knife away before the fucking pigs showed up. How on earth do they train anyone to abandon their humanity to that extent. Why doesnt this country deserve better?

  7. The female officer did what she had to do? The officer interviewed said age cannot be considered. So, she would have used the same move on a 22 year old, 6 ft. tall man? No, she assessed that the woman was frail and harmless, and did exactly what any coward, wife beater, rapist, and child molester would do. She took advantage of the weak to nurture her own feelings of superiority. Had this been a powerful man, she would have cowered behind backup, and they would have shot him to death. The weak only get beaten, the strong get killed.

  8. The LEOs in this country who continue to exhibit this type of behavior are most dangerous to their fellow LEO's. The public will only tolerate so much, and then it's game on.

  10. I support what they do. NOT how they do it.
And understand they constantly risk their lives.
For the honest good hearted ones I say "Thank You" I blame the recruiters and program managers. They look for these emotionally challenged people because they know they'll get the desired 'pit bull' mentality. It starts with selection and training. Also, the flip from 'protect and serve' to 'do what we say without question' or we 'take you down' will only be tolerated so long. The Britih troops of the later half of the 1770's found this out the hard way.

JR: Thank you for making this point. What would this place look like without law and order? A complete wreck! Cassious Clay (spelling) and James Bowie are examples of people (Bowie Knife fighters) that I would venture that the Colt "Peacemaker" got it's name from.

I LOVE LAW AND ORDER - I LOVE THE RULE OF LAW - I LOVE TRAFFIC LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS. I HATE SENSELESS SPEED LIMITS ON ROADS DESIGNED FOR HIGHER SPEEDS CONSIDERING 50'S AUTOMOBILE SUSPENSION AND TIRE SYSTEMS. I HATE HOW THE HIGHWAY PATROL HAS BECOME A TAX COLLECTION AGENCY ENFORCING IDIOTIC SENSELESS SPEED LIMITS NOBODY WANTS TO OBEY.

There is absolutely NO reason for ANY friction between citizens and the police EVER except for laws that the very public they are supposed to protect are laws that public does not wish to obey.

Can a legal system really be judged by the willingness of the public to obey it? (The assumption is that we are living in a system OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, AND FOR THE PEOPLE)
