" Gates' new authority comes from a law, signed by President Barack Obama last month, that gives the Secretary of Defense the power to rule that photos of detainees are exempt from release under the Freedom of Information Act. Gates' action on Friday was the first use of the new FOIA exemption since it passed Congress last month. The photos in question are the subject of a years-long legal fight by the American Civil Liberties Union, which first filed a FOIA request for records pertaining to detainee treatment, rendition, and death in May of 2005. The case is currently being reviewed by the Supreme Court."

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) had sued for the release of 21 color photos under the Freedom of Information Act. "

What do you expect from Robert Gates? Everybody knows that all Aggies are stupid.

Here's a paragraph from his Wikipedia page. I'll provide a translation beneath :

" Robert Michael Gates (born September 25, 1943) is currently serving as the 22nd United States Secretary of Defense. He took office on December 18, 2006.[2] Prior to this, Gates served for 26 years in the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Council, and under President George H. W. Bush as Director of Central Intelligence. Immediately after being recruited by the CIA, he served as an officer in the United States Air Force.[3][4] After leaving the CIA, Gates became president of Texas A&M University and was a member of several corporate boards. Gates also served as a member of the Iraq Study Group, the bipartisan commission co-chaired by James A. Baker III and Lee Hamilton, that has studied the Iraq War. He was also the first pick to serve as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security when it was created following the September 11 attacks, but he declined the appointment in order to remain President of Texas A&M University.[5]"

American Interrogator says Torture costs American Lives

You see, Gates doesn't care about our troops deployed overseas - because until the torture issue is settled, all captured Americans are in grave danger of torture by their captors. Maybe I can make this easy for Gates to understand: "an eye for an eye." That is the deal you are making for every member of the American armed services you F&%K. Now tell me how you are protecting those Americans?

  1. Hey you fixed it, great job!!!!

I will have to concur with your statement on "Aggies". I too believe that anyone dumb enough to attend college in the toothless state of Texas deserves the 3rd tier education they'll receive.

Funnily enough, I linked to your absolutely stellar, fact-finding blog from Reddit. The person who posted it on Reddit goes by the name 21jack21, maybe a long lost cousin Jack Rabbit? But 21jack21 posted it twice with the same headline, that's three headlines total if you can keep up.

So THIS my friend, was not an example of a hurried author attempting at getting his hard-hitting story out to the awaiting masses, this my friend, was somebody who believed something to be so correct, that they wrote it ONCE and posted it THREE times.

I don't need to read your article, but I'm actually going to go ahead and bookmark your blog anyway. I read below you're looking for proofreaders, this is great! I'm actually pretty qualified; I do a lot writing, policy and legal related for my current employer. You should consider yourself lucky, and I even went to a school outside of Texas, isn't that neat!?

    See you around Amigo!

  3. Thanks Sapper sam I forgot to thank you earlier.

The title error was probably due to a cut-and-paste- I'll have to check which secretary of whatever is in charge of torture coverup- I think it's Secretary of Defense of Torture.

this my friend, Sapper Sam, my friend, doesn't have much to do with Gates and Obama covering up torture - does it my friend? Now Amigo, my friend, you seem educated, so my friend, please, my friend, do spend all the time refocusing the audience onto the messenger and away from, my friend, the message, which is TORTURE.
