The Constitution is not a suicide pact

Read entire article here:

" Jefferson offered one of the earliest formulations of the sentiment, although not of the phrase. In 1803, Thomas Jefferson's ambassadors to France arranged the purchase of the Louisiana territory in conflict with Jefferson's personal belief that the Constitution did not bestow upon the federal government the right to acquire or possess foreign territory. Due to political considerations, however, Jefferson disregarded his constitutional doubts, signed the proposed treaty, and sent it to the Senate for ratification. In justifying his actions, he later wrote: "[a] strict observance of the written law is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to the written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the ends to the means."[1]"

Note: I heard a call into the Thom Hartmann show the other day bring up this great point - after Thom was demonizing those asserting their right to bear arms. Thom: message from one of the masses: you are being recorded - and if I were you - I'd be worried because Tarring and Feathering is becoming the latest fad - and if you, as a Zionist, think for a second that Americans fear Israel, the Mossad, or any other group of pussies you support - you will find how sadly mistaken you really are.

NO MAN CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS.

  1. Thom Hartmann is another zionist faggot with gatekeeper tendencies about 9/11 truth telling. He's so anti 2nd. amendment, his sorry german ass should be shipped back to Angela 'israeli shill' Merkel land, and be done with him. His show is such a pollyanish diatribe of 'cumbaya' singing that it's like watching Barney, only on hallucinogenic dope. Hartmann is an Israeli shill and shouldn't ever, ever be called a journalist or a reputable source of information. Strictly an Israeli protection plan with a microhone, and 'treasonous' if he suggests we disarm ourselves for his scummy pacifist ass.

  2. thom says a democracy and a constitutional republic are the same. Thomas Jefferson called a democracy mob rule 51% telling 49% what to do.

  3. Anonymous,

The USA would be a pure democracy, were it not for the Senate. The US Congress is bicameral -- with the House of Representatives being the more 'Democratic' element, and the Senate offering the 'Republic' element.

If we were a pure Democracy, states like California would be far more powerful than a state like Iowa. But, as you well know, when it comes to the Senate, Iowa and California both have the same number of votes.

  4. I disagree anon above.

Our republic consists of three branches.
    Executive - President
    Judicial - Supreme Court
    Legislative- bicameral congress.
The House of Reps is there for the common man
    The Senate represents the aristocracy/rich

The three branches are to balance each other out. Today the Executive has taken over complete control - that's where our problems are coming from.

  5. Congress is not representative as intended.

We've been stuck at the same number of representatives since about 1913, with Congress officially sealing the deal at 435 in 1929.

Today, some Congress critters represent nearly a million people while others only 60,000. George Washington wanted a limit of 30,000.

The only purpose of the Census was to apportion Congress. Today, it serves any purpose but that.

  6. Thanks anon above - never heard that part about the house of reps - learn something new every day.

    Yes - the Census:

In fact the ads put out on radio here in Charlottesville, Virginia encouraging listeners to participate in the census implied that the reason they should do so is to make sure to get their share of money and goodies from our "protectors" in the federal government - played over and over again.
