    Mine says for Social Security & Tax Purposes -- Not for Identification. However 2 minors in the fam, don't have that, as well, they have different stamps on the front of them. One says, Department of Health & Human Services while the other says, Social Security Administration. The other 2 (minors) have a number on the back, beginning with a letter.

    Yes - my friend showed me his original card which had this printing on it - which inspired my search for one to demonstrate that the wording has been changed under the radar.
