Former Pfizer representative charged with health care fraud

" U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz accused Reuben of accepting a $75,000 grant from Pfizer to research the effectiveness of pain medication Celebrex for a 2005 study in which no patients were actually enrolled. Prosecutors allege that Reuben made up the data, which he subsequently published in the medical journal "Anesthesia & Analgesia."

The data supported the conclusion that Celebrex was effective in helping post-operative patients who had received a particular type of knee surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament. "Anesthesia & Analgesia" later had to retract 10 papers written by Reuben, and medical experts at the time said at least 21 journal articles by the anesthesiologist appeared to be fabricated."

Major recall of H1N1 Flu Vaccine in Canada

Note: I mentioned this recall to a guy in a local convenience store - just chit-chatting - he asked "How in the hell is it possible for there only to be problems in Canada and not elsewhere if it's the same antidote?"

Note: I suppose Canadians are genetically different from Americans where I don't see anything about a recall. In America, where our government covers up torture - why in the world would anyone think same government would serve as a good watchdog to keep your drug provider from poisoning you? Just think about it - more illness = more money for pharmaceutical providers.

Also: I stated previously I wouldn't take this flu shot simply based on the character of those advising the public - I'm glad I didn't take the flu shot.
