El-Masri has said he was taken to Afghanistan, where he was tortured for several months and then released when the CIA realized it had been a case of mistaken identity."

Note: America has already told the world that it is OK to kidnap people and hold them indefinitely without trial. Sometimes torture applied. I would imagine we are not the only nation capable of doing that when a person is wanted for violation of our laws.
