In a perfect world -it would not matter that the confirmation of Elena Kagan would be representative of yet a third Jew on our nine-member high court.

You can verify that assertion by asking anyone -if they think this world is perfect -or even- getting more perfect.
Any Senator who votes for Elena Kagan's confirmation is simply out-of-touch with reality, -and- living with the fantastic delusion that they have created a perfect world -or- they are deluded in believing that they have in any way made the world -more perfect.
These deluded Senators have become part-and-parcel to a living Hell -where the world is being run by rank idiots.
I am talking to you, -Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.
